collaborations, have emerged. I call them <em>Folies \u00e0 Deux<\/em>: intertwined transfers towards what is perhaps my main goal: <em>psychological creativity<\/em>. My role: laboratory director, the one that Alchemy called <em>ARTIFEX<\/em>: artificer, catalyst and, why not, shaman: \u00ab\u00a0You are a shaman as long as your luck lasts\u00a0\u00bb (Roberte Hamayon). With age I seem to be getting luckier. This is beautifully described by Florence Derail in an email that ends like this:<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0This workshop-Laboratory:<br \/>\u2013 is not a therapeutic place \u2013 despite the benevolence that prevails in them,<br \/>\u2013 it is a place where each participant, whatever his or her possible initial blocks, is placed in a state of hyper-creativity and hyper-receptivity, where intuition grows at a very fast pace.<br \/>\u2013 It\u2019s a laboratory in the strongest sense, a place of experimentation [for whom? For everyone, including Enrique Pardo.]\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>And the voice in all this? I like an (indirect) definition by Giorgio Agamben: \u00ab Listening to the voice in speech, that\u2019s what thinking is all about \u00bb. I also like Roy Hart\u2019s favorite quote: \u00ab The voice is the muscle of the soul \u00bb, from H. W. Longfellow. Nevertheless, the notion of \u00ab\u00a0soul\u00a0\u00bb is not part of my cultural reference, something that has made me write quite a lot about the links and differences between soul, psyche and anima. Roy Hart Centre Website<\/h4><p><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">My work honors two main figures of inspiration:\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16.0016px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/pantheatre.com\/1-histoire-fr.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">Roy Hart<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">(\u2020 1975) and the idealism of his philosophy and practice of the voice, and the ideas of American writer and psychologist,\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 16.0016px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"http:\/\/1-james-hillman-html\/\" data-wplink-url-error=\"true\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">James Hillman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">\u00a0(\u2020 2011) &#8211; Carl Jung&rsquo;s main heir. In the last ten years my richest inspirational dialogues have been with French philosopher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arsmagica.fr\"><b>Xavier Papa\u00efs<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p><p>The year <b>2025<\/b> will mark the 50th anniversary of Roy Hart&rsquo;s death. I plan to assemble and write a collection of in-depth articles on him, on the seven years I worked with him (1968 to 1975) and on the fifty years since, during which I&rsquo;ve been lucky enough to travel widely, especially artistically, and to meet many masters, who became friends, including James Hillman. Some of them are younger than me, like Peruvian actor Luis Ramirez, director Romeo Castellucci, and, more recently, Xavier Papa\u00efs.<\/p><p>I founded\u00a0<a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; text-decoration-line: underline; color: #36d715; outline: 0px; font-size: 16.0016px;\" href=\"http:\/\/pantheatre.com\/1-definitions-fr.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\"><em>Pantheatre<\/em><\/span><\/a>\u00a0in 1981, and co-direct it with my partner Linda Wise. We are based in Paris and in Mal\u00e9rargues &#8211; as an autonomous company closely associated with the Roy Hart Centre.<\/p><p>Panth\u00e9\u00e2tre was formed during the \u00ab\u00a0dark ages\u00a0\u00bb of Mal\u00e9rargues, the years of isolated social and artistic autarky that followed Roy Hart&rsquo;s death. I organized a research group with some of my colleagues to explore the relationship between voice and movement. But my main inspiration came from two books: one by James Hillman, the other by his collaborator, psychotherapist Rafael Lopez-Pedraza; both about <b>Pan<\/b>, the dancing-singing god.<\/p><p>From there, in 1981, the solo <i><b>Calling for Pan<\/b><\/i>, and <b>Pantheatre<\/b>. In 1987, at James Hillman&rsquo;s suggestion, we organized the first <b><i>Myth and Theatre Festival<\/i><\/b> &#8211; which is still running. Its cultural and polytheistic leanings meant that the festival had to go into exile for almost twenty years; a ten-year golden exile at the Chartreuse de Villeneuve lez Avignon, then in New Orleans, Ireland and Granada&#8230; It returned to Malerargues in 2005 for a series dedicated &#8211; at last! &#8211; to the <i><b>Myths of the Voice<\/b><\/i>. The most recent festival, in June 2023, had <i><b>FETISH<\/b><\/i> as its theme, as part of an ongoing series dedicated to <b>MAGIC<\/b>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"aux-parallax-section elementor-column elementor-col-33 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-67fe77d\" data-id=\"67fe77d\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5b1f2c6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5b1f2c6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">Today, in short, the two main strands of my work are <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/pantheatre.com\/gb\/2-choreographic-theatre-gb.html\"><i style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\"><b>Choreographic Theatre<\/b><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/pantheatre.com\/gb\/2-voice-gb.html\"><b style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\"><i>Voice Performance<\/i><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16.0016px;\">. The removal of ARTISTIC and its replacement by VOICE is for me a serious reduction, which I oppose.
